Innovapost raises over 2 Million Dollars for Charity

Innovapost achieved this milestone after its 2010 Fall Festival campaign for the United Way raised $289,988 for charities throughout Ottawa, Mississauga and Toronto.

Innovapost, a leading provider of IT solutions and services, announced today that it has raised over two million dollars for charity since the company was founded in May of 2002. The Company achieved the milestone through special fundraising events and employee contributions to community and charitable organizations including the United Way and the Make-A-Wish® Foundation of Eastern Ontario.

“Innovapost is a committed supporter of charities throughout Ottawa, Mississauga and Toronto where our 750 employees live and work,” said Brendan Timmins, chief executive officer of Innovapost. “We are proud that Innovapost has gained a reputation as a company that cares about its communities.”

Innovapost’s annual Fall Festival campaign for the United Way is the company’s largest fundraising event, involving all employees in Ottawa and Toronto. In 2008, Innovapost’s Fall Festival was recognized by United Way Centraide Ottawa as the best community campaign that year, and was later added to their Wall of Inspiration at Ottawa City Hall. In 2009, Innovapost raised $313,827 for the United Way, $250,700 was raised in Ottawa—making Fall Festival the tenth largest campaign in Ottawa in total dollars raised. Innovapost was the only campaign in the top-ten with less than 1,000 employees.

Innovapost is also the corporate founder and title sponsor of the Innovapost ‘Share the Power of a Wish’ Walk Run—the largest fundraising event for Make-A-Wish® Eastern Ontario. Last year, the event raised $116,000, which helped to grant over 10 Wishes to children facing life threatening medical conditions.
Through the stewardship of the company’s Community and Charitable Events (CCE) Committee, employees of Innovapost continue to demonstrate their commitment to their communities through initiatives such as these:

  • Innovapost employees in Toronto and Ottawa have helped to build six houses for deserving families with Habitat for Humanity Canada
  • Since 2005, Innovapost has raised funds to purchase essential pieces of equipment for the Ottawa Hospital through the Ottawa Hospital Foundation
  • Innovapost is an active participant in charity events throughout Ottawa, Mississauga and Toronto. Past and current events include: the Innovapost ‘Share the Power of a Wish’ Walk / Run for Make-A-Wish® Eastern Ontario; the CN Tower Climb for the United Way; Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada’s ‘Bike Tour’; CHEO ‘Trees of Hope’; Children’s Aid Christmas Program in Toronto and Ottawa; and the Ottawa Dragon Boat Race Festival in support of various charities
