Case study examines how user feedback and an agile development methodology enabled Canada Post and Innovapost to deliver an online service that is the first of its kind in the postal industry.
To offset declining letter-mail volumes, Canada Post is continually looking for new ways to extend the use of existing assets and diversify its revenue. In 2010, Canada Post identified its epost service – an online mail and bill payment service – as an excellent source of potential subscriber and revenue growth. Canada Post envisioned an online “vault” that would enable users to upload, store and share important documents in a secure online environment within their epost accounts.

Case study examines how Innovapost recently helped Canada Post implement a simple and secure transaction system for credit card PIN management that is improving the customer experience and driving innovation.
The latest advancement in payment technology is the “chip” credit card – a card that requires you to enter a personal identification number (PIN) when performing a transaction. This system depends upon the consumer’s ability to remember the PIN and/or change the number if the original bank-issued PIN is forgotten or too difficult to remember. Customers who have poor initial experiences with new chip cards – such as forgetting the PIN and abandoning the transaction – are bad news for banks, which are interested in minimizing abandoned transactions and cards.

Case Study: Wintel Server Virtualization Reduces Infrastructure Costs and Drives Organizational Change at Canada PostApril 27, 2011 - Ottawa, Ontario
Case study examines how Innovapost recently led an ambitious server virtualization project at Canada Post that has reduced ongoing infrastructure costs, optimized server resource usage and enabled business managers to focus on results.
As part of an ongoing effort to modernize its technology and reduce costs, Canada Post outlined a number of ambitious business goals for 2010. These objectives included the need to identify infrastructure cost savings, improve server resource usage and facilitate more nimble business operations. The Wintel servers (machines running Intel x86 compatible processors and a Microsoft Windows operating system) were key components of Canada Post operations, but were expensive to operate. Facing monthly maintenance costs of thousands of dollars per server, Canada Post wished to reduce these expenses without compromising – or interrupting – performance.
